Action Item review

<scribe> New business

<jkiss> am dialing in now

HTML to Platform Accessibility APIs Implementation Guide (http://dvcs.w3.org/hg/html-api-map/raw-file/tip/Overview.html)

Char worked on the doc over the weekend. She made comments on the TOC (wrt the doc structure), and also reworked the first matrix (HTML element to Accessibility API Role mapping matrix)

overall, the new layout was favorably received

Steve replied via email with comments that he likes the separate tables for each element, doesn't like the list format as much, thinks we could offer all 3 views. This could be achieved by having the data in a database and then outputting in a different format depending on a user preference.

David likes the idea of having it in a database, but isn't sure how easy it would be to implement.

Cynthia mentioned using Excel, David thinks that might work

<scribe> New layout allows for more information for each platform (now that the tables have fewer columns)

Char said that it's also possible to include information from both existing matrices in the one table (making the table three columns instead of two).

Discussion on whether HTML4/HTML5 rows are really necessary in final document (given that audience is browser implementers).

<davidb> Group leaning toward the one table per element format.

<davidb> Considering expandable headings/details.

<davidb> Will ping Steve on idea of a database approach.

<scribe> ACTION: Char to convert a couple examples of each matrix type to HTML and send to the list for feedback [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2012/01/31-aapi-minutes.html#action01]

<scribe> ACTION: jkiss will try a conversion first on a couple examples and let us know how it works. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2012/01/31-aapi-minutes.html#action02]

Recap Action Items

jkiss will continue working on his items, still needs to connect with James Craig.

Cyns saw a blog post that Firefox was implementing Mac a11y APIs. Jkiss will contact Marko for more info.
