http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/aria-implementation/#mapping_role_table
in Section 5.3, change "User agents MAY also expose the WAI-ARIA data through
this API even when there is a direct mapping to an accessibility API." to account for the MUST requirement for roles. "User agents MUST also expose the entire role string through this mechanism and MAY also expose other WAI-ARIA attributes and values through this API even when there is a direct mapping to an accessibility API."
Jan 14 - bugs done
Jan 20 - most edits done by Andi and final discussion
Jan 25 - final edits done and Michael can begin the publication process
Michael notes that W3C only publishes on Tuesdays and Thursdays so publication would be on February 1st
Cynthia can't meet on Jan 20th, move meeting to the 21st
Jan 21 - most edits done by Andi and final discussion
CS: Jan 14th might be too aggressive to finish all bugs
AS: get some to me by the 14th, and dribble the rest in until the 18th
CS: IE implementation does not change depending on the value of aria-relevant
DB: neither does Mozilla
IE does not trim out the tree when aria-hidden is true, sets STATE_SYSTEM_INVISIBLE
DB: James is the one who feels strongly that the tree should be trimmed out
CS: can we change this to a
SHOULD
... think it should be a MAY
c/CS: can we/DB: can we/
DB: don't think this is the browser's job.
CS: if author has done it wrong,
if you trim it from the tree, then there is no work around for
the AT
... worst case scenario is that focus goes to something with
aria-hidden="true" but then it's not in the accessibility
tree
... would be difficult to get IE to change, seems like this
should be in the hands of the AT
<scribe> ACTION: Andi to discuss with Rich to see if it's a problem if we change it to MAY [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2011/01/06-aapi-minutes.html#action01]
