shepazu: SVG WG (Tiny) decided to merge DOM L3 events functionality (pieces) into the SVG 1.2 Tiny spec.

shepazu: text events/ key events (snapshot of DOM L3 Events 1 year ago)

smaug: text events hasn't changed in a long time (and already implemented in some browsers)

shepazu: downside is that these pieces will be specified in two different places.
... would consider the DOM L3 spec to be normative.

smaug: SVT 1.2 Tiny would remove dependency.

shepazu: We'd deprecate any legacy events stuff in SVG 1.2 Tiny in favor of whatever DOM L3 Events specifies in the future.
