<ericP> jar, sorry, lost signal

<eneumann> scribe: Susie

<Tonya> http://www.jenitennison.com/blog/node/66

Susie: Sad news about Chime.

<Tonya> above is the link to make donations

Susie: His daughters died in a fire.

Tonya: They are setting up 2 funds.

<Tonya> http://thekingdomkids.org/

Tonya: One is for his family, and the other is to help protect other children from similar disasters.

Eric: Still trying to work out how best to respond.

EricP: We have sent flowers on behalf of HCLS.

EricN: This is the last call for HCLS this year and for this charter.

EricP: Interested to know if people would be happy to resume calls on Thursdays at 11am ET, starting 1st week of Jan.
... This would work for Tonya & Susie.
... Given current events it may make sense to re-charter this HCLS for another month.
... Will ask the activity lead if this is possible.
... Publishing deadline for this year is approx. Dec. 20.

Tonya: Next agenda item is to review status of the notes.

Jonathan: URI note will require a few more iterations.
... Am aiming for the end of the year.
... Haven't received much feedback from HCLS.
... Could just clean up what we have.
... Then there wouldn't be more feedback from HCLS.
... 2 choices. 1 proceed as we get and get an editors draft on the site in Jan or Feb. Option 2 - I person acts as a gatekeeper for everything.

Susie: Won't we need to go through a editors draft and a working group step?

EricP: Not necessary for IGs.
... There isn't anything that stands in our way.

Susie: SWEO is putting the Cool URI doc through the WG process. Should we do the same for the HCLS URI note?

EricN: The SWEO doc is promoting URIs. The HCLS note is different.
... Jonathan identify straightforward situations for minting URIs?

Jonathan: Thought a huge issue was thinking about working with non-information resources.

EricN: What extra stuff do they get from Jonathan;s document over SWEO's doc.

Joanthan: Primarily whether they are meaningful and persist.

Jonathan: Doesn't think the big divide is between information resources anf non-information resources.
... Maybe we don't want to publish by the end of the year.

EricP: Wasn't aware IGs could follow the WG process.
... Will find out about it.
... Would like to push on us to finish the doc as soon as possible.
... Why don't we have more HCLS calls this year?

Tonya: Lots of people on vacation, etc.

EricP: Maybe a small group could keep going to discuss notes.

Susie: BioRDF could cover publication of docs?

EricP: Delay URI until Jan., and BioRDF to lead on other docs for this year?

Tonya: OK

EricN: OK

Jonathan: Would like comments on doc.

Susie: Then makes sense to delay URI doc until Jan, and get other less controversal docs out this year.

Tonya: Agree.

Scott: The URI doc is an application of the Cool URI doc.

Susie: Cool URI doc mirrors TAGS thinking. HCLS URI doc could challenge the TAG.

Jonathan: Fine with Scott's comment, but not sure what it implies.

Scott: How to make statement about something in a tar ball in a database.
... Answering questions like that distinguishes the HCLS URI note from the Cool URI note.
... This helps to ground URI concepts in a use case.

Susie: Scott is taking the lead on the HCLS KB note.

Scott: I'll give an upate on Monday.
... I'd like input as to what questions people would like answered.
... Problem description, how people could go about duplicating the effort.

<mscottm> ericN?

Susie: Matthias is taking the lead on the senselab conversion

EricN: No update on the DSE note, as no feedback from others.
... It is ready to publish.

<eneumann> http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/hcls/Note_DSE_20071108.html

Next HCLS call on Jan. 10 at 11am ET.

Tonya: Blessed holiday season and a happy new year.
