The goals of this meeting are to:
- Discuss EARL specification and tool issues and develop a new
specification draft,
- Discuss annotation mechanisms for images, tools and their use cases
You must register
for the workshop if you plan to attend. Registration closes 8
June 2002.
Registration is open to participants of the WAI
Evaluation and Repair Tools Working Group and to people interested in the
SWAD-Europe
project.
Location
This meeting will be held in Bristol, hosted by ILRT, University of Bristol. The meeting will
take place at Royal Fort House in the University of Bristol. It is located
off Tyndall Avenue, Bristol. (There is a wooded walk, and the Fort House is
in the Gardens). A map of the
location is available - building 63, F5.
Remote participation
There was an IRC channel available during the meeting to allow some remote
participation.
Agenda
Workshop each day will begin at 9am and finish at 5pm. Lunch will be
provided from noon to 1:30 pm with coffee breaks morning and afternoon.
Monday 24 June and Tuesday 25 June - EARL

test corpus (i.e. Find ways to generate lots of EARL of lots of sites
to find out if it's right or not, and what else we need.)

- Demonstrations of existing EARL tools
- Dividing the schema into 2 (orientation schema
and a validation schema)

EARL/testing schema
- defining a collection of components as a page (i.e. this page consists
of X, Y, Z - so we can say that if there is a problem with Z there is a
problem with the page).
- Where (and how) to put earl information.
- Generating EARL examples for the user scenarios.

Wednesday 26 June - Annotation of images.
- Demonstrations of existing annotation interfaces
- Demonstrations of querying and using annotations

- Discussion of underlying storage, query and retrieval methods
- Discussion of using image annotations and other kinds (e.g. EARL) in
the same system
